| hiDCon® - Beam shaped elements |
Beam shaped hiDCon® elements are used when tunneling in squeezing rock zones. A load bearing and deformable lining is created by installing shotcrete shells with integrated hiDCon - elements between steel arches with sliding connections. The resulting tunnel lining significantly helps to reduce rock pressures.

| hiDCon® - Foundation elements |
hiDCon® foundation elements can used in tunneling through swelling rock as part of the lining concept "Modular Yielding Support" by Prof. Dr. K. Kovári. The hiDCon® foundation elements are installed as load bearing components between the squeezing native rock and the tunnel lining. Swelling pressures are reduced to predefined levels by the compressibility of the hiDCon® elements. Heave of the entire tunnel as well as the overstressing of the lining is precluded.

| hiDCon® - Anchor elements |
The expansion and the durability of pre-stressed rock anchors can be greatly increased using hiDCon anchor elements. At sites where deformations due to excessive forces can not be prevented hiDCon anchor elements are installed between the anchor plate and the native rock / ground / retaining walls etc. The hiDCon elements plastically deform while maintaining a nearly constant load. They can later be replaced when deformations near the designed specification.

| hiDCon® - plug |
A deformable modular structured plug made of hiDCon® was placed at the end of a gallery used to simulated storage sites for nuclear waste disposal. The hiDCon® elements reduced stresses due to thermal expansion during first large scale tests, avoiding damage of the site. |
