Multi-Port Sampling System (MPSS) |
3D-Groundwater monitoring in consolidated and unconsolidated rock |
| PP-System |
The PP-System (Pore Pressure Piezometer) was developed for determining static formation pressures in low permeability rock in a relatively short time period. PP-Systems have been applied for many In-situ experiments in claystone, including diffusion tests, tracertests, geochemical characterization of formation water, hydraulic tests, and osmosis tests |
| Multi-packer System |
Removable multi-packer systems are for isolating discrete zones in a borehole |
Double-packer System (DPSS to 300m, HDDP to 1800m deep) |
Test system for determining hydraulic parameter (static formation pressure, hydraulic conductivity, and storativity) and collecting water samples in boreholes to 1800 m depth |
| Mini-packer System (MMPS) |
The mini-packer system was developed to characterize the disturbed rock zone surrounding an underground excavation (tunnel or cavern). The system allows discretization of the rock into test intervals separated by inflatable packers |
| SPMP-System |
The SPMP (Standpipe Multi-Packer System) is intended for long-term monitoring of deep boreholes. It consists of hydraulically expanded packers that isolate discrete borehole intervals. The intervals are accessed via individual stand pipes. The modular system can be removed and re-configured as necessary. The system allows monitoring of static formation pressure, groundwater chemistry (pH, specific conductivity, temperature) as well as performance of hydraulic testing and water sampling. Sensors can be replaced without disturbing the system |
| Hydraulic Fracturing System |
High pressure test system for determining stress conditions in rock. The systems consist of a robust double packer straddle and a high-pressure injection system for determining the pressure at which the rock fractures |
