Current Projects / Hybrid Multi-Packer Systems Tono, Japan
|
An Underground Research Laboratory is under construction in Tono, Japan. A couple of deep boreholes were drilled in the surrounding of the shaft for long-term groundwater monitoring and groundwater analysis.
Solexperts developed two Hybrid Multi-Packer Systems which have been designed specifically for the needs of the customer. The Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA, formerly JNC) ordered Solexperts, together with our Japanese partner GERD, to install two Hybrid Multi-Packer Systems into two deep boreholes (borehole length 1012 m and 1300 m, borehole diameter 333 mm to 134 mm).
The Hybrid-Multi-Packer System consists in the lower part of a conventional Multi-Packer System (MPS) and in the upper part of a Stand-Pipe Multi-Packer System (SPMP).
Both systems implemented in Japan, allow groundwater monitoring and water sampling from 10 isolated borehole sections. |
