Hydraulic engineering

Flow forces can significantly compromise the stability of earth dams. Flow processes within dams usually change very slowly, often without any externally visible signs. However, the presence of internal erosion can very quickly result in the failure of the stability and thus the destruction of a structure.

Temperature measurements are particularly suitable to detect weak areas in dams or damage to sealing elements at an early stage. Then, specific remediation work can be carried out early enough to prevent further damage .
