Fixed Installable Micrometer (FIM)

The FIM is used for continuous measurement of borehole axial deformations. Similar to the sliding micrometer and the Trivec, the FIM is based on the cone-sphere setting principle. Probe lengths from 1 to 5 m are available. In boreholes with measuring tubes for Sliding Deformeter, Sliding Micrometer or Trivec, sections can be equipped with FIM(s) for continuous measurements. The FIM is fixed in the measuring tube between two measuring marks and connected to the data acquisition system.
