Multi-packer long-term monitoring systems, Nagra TBO
Selected TBO boreholes are equipped with multi-packer long-term monitoring systems to measure groundwater levels and pressures from specific formations and to collect groundwater samples from selected aquifers. Solexperts was contracted by Nagra to supply and install 3 multi-packer systems with seven monitoring intervals in three vertical TBO boreholes.
Main components of the packer systems
- Central tubing string
- Hydraulically inflatable packers
- Observation lines with ports/filters to measure the hydraulic pressure in the observation intervals
- Sliding sleeves, as additional access to the aquifers for groundwater sampling
- Pressure sensors for measurement of the observation interval and the packer pressures
- Data acquisition system
- Fibre optic sensor cable for distributed temperature measurement
