Albania, Dam Safety Project for the Drin and Mat River Cascades HPP

As part of the cooperation between Switzerland and the Republic of Albania, the Swiss government, represented by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), is providing financial support in the "Dam Safety Project for the Drin and Mat River Cascades HPP" for integral dam monitoring, including geological and seismic monitoring. The Albanian Electricity Company (KESH - Korporata Elektroenergjetike Shqiptare) operated five hydroelectric power plants (HPP) on the Drin and Mat rivers, corresponding to about 90% of Albania's installed electricity capacity.

Monitoring programme

Solexperts was contracted for the implementation of the comprehensive monitoring programme for the 5 dams Fierza, Komani, VaulDejes, Ulza and Shkopeti; in particular for
