baLCon® – ballistic concrete

The highly deformable concrete of the hiDCon elements used in tunnel construction is also suitable as a ballistic protection material. The suitability was recently proven in a ballistic test by armasuisse Wissenschaft und Techolgie W + T Prüfstelle Angriffshemmung. Solexperts has filed a patent application for the use of this highly deformable concrete as an interceptor and tactical barrier at the end of 2021. 

baLCon® applications

baLCon® elements can be used as a tactical barrier, for example to protect measuring equipment on a shooting range or to cover ceilings, walls and floors of shooting ranges. 

Fibres

The fibres in the baLCon®- elements play a role in the energy absorption and thus the penetration depth of bullets (see X-ray image of the fibres in the vicinity of a bullet impact).

Patent

Solexperts has filed a patent application for the application of this highly deformable concrete as an interceptor and tactical barrier at the end of 2021.
